Mandate		Mandaat
The Durbanville Heritage society was established in 2006 as a result of the concern of the residents that many of our cultural and heritage sites have not been preserved. The society are registered at Heritage Western Cape: HWC/RCB/08/06. Our Mandate is governed by the National Heritage Resources Act of 1999 and informed by the wishes of our residents. We urge all residents, developers and interested parties to read this act. To download this act click here ..National Heritage Resources Act 1999		Die Durbanville Erfenis-vereniging was gestig in 2006 na aanleiding van die bekommernis van inwoners dat 'n groot aantal kultuur/erfenis plekke verdwyn het oor die laaste paar dekades. Die stigting is geregistreer by Erfenis Wes-Kaap: HWC/RCB/08/06 Ons mandaat word bepaal in terme van die wet op Erfenis-hulpbronne van 1999 en die wense van ons inwoners. Ons versoek alle inwoners, ontwikkelaars en belangegroepe om vertroud te raak met hierdie. Om af te laai druk hier ..Nasionale Efenis-hulpbronne Wet - 1999.
Aims		Doelstellings
To promote and preserve the heritage of Durbanville and surrounding district where applicable. To identify and preserve buildings, places and public open spaces which enhance the heritage of Durbanville and surrounding district with specific reference to preserving the rural surrounds and farms. To gather, order, process and archive written and audiovisual material related to Durbanville. To promote and support original research related to the objectives of the Society. To provide an information service to the public within the framework of the objectives. To collaborate with other persons and organisations who study and preserve Durbanville’s rural and natural environment. To arrange regular meetings and activities for its membership and when appropriate, the general public.		Om die kultuur-erfenis van Durbanville en omliggende distrikte (waar van toepassing) te bevorder en bewaar. Om geboue, plekke en oop publieke ruimtes wat die erfenis van Durbanville en omgewing bevorder (met spesifieke verwysing na die bewaring van die landelike omgewing en plase) te identifiseer en bewaar. Om geskrewe en oudiovisuele materiaal met betrekking tot Durbanville te versamel, te orden, te verwerk, te ontsluit en bewaar. Om oorspronklike navorsing aan te moedig en te ondersteun ten bevordering van die doelstellings van die Stigting. Om binne die raamwerk van sy doelstellings ‘n inligtingsdiens aan die publiek te lewer. Om met ander persone en instansies wat Durbanville se kultuur, asook sy natuuromgewing bestudeer en/of bewaar, saam te werk. Om gereelde vergaderings en aktiwiteite vir sy lede te reël en waar van toepassing ook vir die algemene publiek.
Constitution		Konstitusie
The DHS initiated a due process to draw up a constitution for the aims, objectives and functions of the Durbanville Heritage society. This constitution was based on the constitutions of similar societies, the new act as well as input from our community. To download the constitution please click here.... Constitution		Die DEV het 'n inklusiewe proses gevolg vir die daarstelling van 'n konstitusie vir die doelwitte en funksionering van die Durbanville Erfenis-vereniging. Member are chosen at a the yearly Annual General Meeting. Their portfolios our designated at the first members meeting following the AGM. Any member of the society can be co-opted to serve on a sub committee. Die portfolios word toegeken op die eerste vergadering na die JAV. Enige lid van die vereniging kan geko-opteer word om op 'n subkomitee vergadering te dien . If you feel want to make a contribution to the protection of our wonderful Durbanville heritage please join. The membership is only R 50 per year . For this membership we will inform you of the issues related to the protection of our heritage, invitation to exciting tours and talks. Some of the subscription fees will be supplemented by sponsors to initiate special projects. The first priority is to develop a small resource/archival center where we can protect all our and other valuable Durbanville Heritage artifacts. We need your support and input. To join please fill in the application form or ask to have a form sent to you.		Indien u 'n bydrae wil maak tot die bewaring van ons wonderlike Durbanville erfenis vra ons dat u by ons aansluit. Die lidmaatskap fooi is slegs R 50 per jaar. Vir hierdie klein bedrag sal ons u inligting stuur oor gebeure rondom Durbanville se erfenis en uitnodigings na lekker uitstappies en praatjies. Deel van u ledegeld tesame met ons borge word aangewend vir spesiale projekte. Ons eerste prioriteit is die daarstelling van 'n erfenis/argief senter waar ons u en ander belangrike artefakte kan bewaar vir ons nageslag. Ons het u ondersteuning en insette nodig.
